We are constantly learning and striving to advance the standard of patient care in our dental practice. In doing so, we have added an optional new procedure to routine cleanings to help fight gum disease. We now have the ability to attack this inflammation at the microscopic level through the use of our dental soft tissue lasers. We recommend that all of our patients have their teeth decontaminated with a dental laser during their cleaning appointments for the following reasons.
- To reduce or eliminate bacteria that can be introduced into our bloodstream.
- To prevent cross contamination of infections in one area of your mouth to other areas. Lasers minimizes the chance that we may inadvertently pick up bacteria in one area of your mouth and move it to others.
- To kill bacteria that causes gum disease and stop their infections before they cause physical destruction or loss of attachment around your teeth.
